Hi! I'm Stephanie Cantrell, lover of art, music, fashion, beauty, and the God who gives it all to us. I'm a West Texas girl who is passionate about making real connections with people and helping them express who they are and what they’re about in creative ways. I fulfilled this passion for 14 years as a professional graphic artist, and have decided to transition into a new form of expression – photography.
I’ve always delighted in creativity and the freedom it brings. For as long as I can remember, I've enjoyed taking photos of people. Growing up, I persuaded my girlfriends and sisters to model for hours while I played fashion photographer with my Kodak Disc. Six years ago, after many years of editing photos for photographers as part of my design business, I was inspired to see what I could do from behind the lens. My desire to capture honest, beautiful images of my family also helped me discover that I wanted to invest more time in developing as an artist and photographer.
I’ve discovered that I especially enjoy taking senior portraits, which stems from my love of working with teens through student ministry. Helping a senior feel confident and relaxed during a photo session and bringing out his or her individuality is one of the greatest perks of my job! My goal is to make each client feel wonderful inside and out and to give evidence to the beauty of God's design in all of us.
What started as a hobby has grown into a profession where my work reflects the things I value: relationships, creativity, and beauty. Over the years, I've cultivated my own style and gained expertise in capturing emotive portraits. I stay current on the latest advances in photography and gain inspiration by attending classes and workshops on a regular basis, and I am a member of the Texas Professional Photographers Association.
My husband and I married in 2014 and live in the Northwest Austin area. Between us, we have three gorgeous teenage daughters, two entertaining pups, one "grand-horse," and an 11-year-old goldfish. My hobbies include traveling, reading, cheering on my Red Raiders, spending time with family and friends, singing, and playing guitar.
